Light, Views, Protection
Glass patio covers give you the best of both worlds — complete weather protection without blocking a single ray of sunshine or inch of your Okanagan view.
Natural Light
Crystal-clear tempered glass lets all the sunshine through. Your patio stays bright, never dark or shaded.
Tempered Safety Glass
Same glass as car windshields. If it ever breaks (rare), it crumbles into small safe pieces.
PSF Snow Load Rating
Engineered for Okanagan winters. Handles heavy snow loads while looking sleek and modern.
30-Year Warranty
Aluminum frame backed for 30 years. Glass panels backed by manufacturer guarantee.

Glass vs. Aluminum, Acrylic & Polycarbonate
When you’ve got a Mission or Lake Country view, the cover you choose makes or breaks it. Solid aluminum gives the best weather protection but hides your sightlines and darkens the patio. Acrylic and polycarbonate let light through but yellow, scratch, and drum loudly in rain and hail. Tempered safety glass is the one material that does it all — crystal-clear views, full rain and snow protection, and a finish that won’t cloud or discolour for decades.
- Keeps the lake & mountain views solid aluminum blocks
- Won’t yellow, scratch or cloud like acrylic or polycarbonate
- Quiet in rain and hail — no plastic drumming
- 6mm tempered safety glass, up to 4× stronger than standard glass (CSA-rated safety glazing)
Modern Design Meets Weather Protection
Enjoy Natural Light Year-Round
Unlike solid covers that block sun, glass lets all natural light through. Your indoor plants stay happy, your patio stays bright even on cloudy days.
Unobstructed Lake & Mountain Views
See right through the roof. Perfect for hillside homes and lakefront properties where the view is everything.
Complete Rain & Snow Protection
Sealed glass panels channel water away completely. No dripping, no leaking, no problem. Integrated gutters keep everything dry.
Adds Value Buyers Notice
Glass reads as a finished outdoor room, not a tacked-on roof. Clean sightlines, no bulky posts blocking the view — the kind of feature that makes a backyard show better at resale.

Engineered & Permitted for Okanagan Weather
Every glass cover we build is engineered for our local climate — heavy Okanagan snow, intense summer UV, and the wind that funnels down the lake. Frames are structural aluminum, powder-coated so they never rust, and the glass is rated to exceed the 40+ PSF snow load required under the BC Building Code. We pull the City of Kelowna building permit and handle the engineering stamps, and every crew works to WorkSafeBC standards from first measurement to final walkthrough.
Upkeep is almost nothing: rinse the glass with a hose a couple of times a season and it stays clear, while the powder-coated frame never needs painting or sealing. No rust, no rot, no annual maintenance bill.
- Snow-load rated to exceed BC code (40+ PSF)
- Powder-coated aluminum frame — zero rust, zero painting
- Permits & engineering handled for you
- Local install in 1–2 days

Frequently Asked Questions
Is glass strong enough for snow loads?
Yes. We use 6mm tempered safety glass rated for 40+ PSF. That’s engineered for Okanagan winters. The aluminum frame structure handles the load distribution.
Does glass get too hot in summer?
Clear glass does let heat through. If heat is a concern, we recommend tinted glass or pairing with a retractable shade. Many clients love the warmth for shoulder seasons.
How much does a glass patio cover cost?
$8,500 to $25,000 installed, depending on size. Glass is the premium option — about 1.5x-2x the cost of solid aluminum. Check our cost guide for details.
How do you clean glass patio covers?
Rain does most of the work. For thorough cleaning, a soft brush on a pole with soapy water once or twice a year. Optional self-cleaning coating makes it even easier.
Glass vs aluminum — which is better?
Depends what you want. Glass: maximum light, unobstructed views, modern look. Aluminum: better shade, lower cost, insulated options. Many clients add glass over decks and aluminum over patios. Love the clean look? Carry it down to the deck with glass deck railings.
What if the glass breaks?
Tempered glass is extremely durable — 4x stronger than regular glass. If it does break, it crumbles into small dull pieces (not sharp shards). We replace panels under warranty.
